circa 1880, the front lid with blue enamel Roman numerals and chemin de fer chapter ring over a polished ground with foliate engraved border, the white dial, 30mm diameter, with black Roman numerals, gold coloured double swell spade hands, subsidiary seconds register at 6 o'clock and dot minute track, unnumbered mechanical crown wind movement with onion shaped winder and retractable hand setting lever at 4 o'clock, case, 34mm diameter, verso hinged, decorated with foliate engraving around a vacant escutcheon shaped cartouche, interior stamped '18c 0.755', with Swiss 'Three Heads of Helvetia' marks indicating export to England, Le Noirmont, numbered 17 92954 with sponsor marks for Arthur Baume (Baume & Co., London), the cuvette similarly marked, gross weight 32.8g, presented on a twisted filed curb link chain, by Inoaerre of Italy, 50cm in length and terminating in a bolt ring fastening, stamped '750', weight 2.6g
