Description

c1947, model 4453, the signed silvered dial, (with Tudor rose within a shield), 25mm diameter, with alternate luminous batons and Arabic numerals, luminous hands, subsidiary seconds register at 6 o'clock and chemin de fer chapter ring, signed 17 jewel mechanical crown wind movement calibre 59 with liveried screw down crown, steel case, 30mm diameter, verso screw down and numbered 564757, interior signed and stamped 4453, to an aftermarket black leather strap with pin buckle

Footnote: Early models in the Tudor range can be distinguished by the use of a shield around the rose motif on the dial. From 1947 onwards, a year after the official launch of Tudor, the shield gradually disappeared from the logo. Henceforth, it consisted of only the company name and the rose, finely drawn or as an appliqué in relief.

Condition report: Crystal: Complete. Some very minor surface scratching all over. Dial: In fair condition. Some minor spotting all over (visible under magnification or in reflected light), and a larger mark at 10 o'clock. Some minor deterioration to the finish of the markers and some minor rust spotting to the hour and minute hands (all visible under magnification) Movement: In working order though has not been tested for timekeeping. Probably the original screw down crown engages and disengages as it should and the hands move freely in both directions. Case: Some minor surface scratching all over as to be expected. Verso with some surface scratching and a small but deeper nick. Screws and unscrews satisfactorily. Aftermarket strap in almost unused condition.
