About this lot

Description

Four views of Trentham, Staffordshire
pen and ink with watercolour on paper
27 x 46cm, a set of four

Provenance:
With Leger Galleries, 13 Old Bond Street, London, in December 1987, when acquired for The Desmond Heyward Collection, Haseley Court, Oxfordshire

Condition report:

All four watercolours appear to be in a good condition with no major signs of damage or warping to the paper. All have minor signs of surface dirt throughout and slight discolouration that comes with age. On close inspection, the watercolour with the lone fisherman standing by a lake has a diagonal crease-like undulation in the upper right quadrant - approximately 4cm in length. This same watercolour also has a small nick - roughly 1mm in diameter - in the upper right quadrant which has exposed the unpainted paper beneath. On close inspection, the watercolour with figures boating on the lake has crease-like marks in the upper right corner.
