The painting is executed in oil on a wooden panel support formed from a single board. The panel is in plane and in a good condition. The paint layer has an unusual surface texture with raised, rounded lines running through the composition which have been retouched. There is a network of age cracks across the surface. The paint layer appears worn in many areas. Overpaint is present following cracks as well as more general areas of abrasion. The varnish is clear, even but brittle with scuffs across the surface.
