HOWARD (Howard, 1845-1885) Royal Artillery Officer. Six later mounted pencil sketches of scenes from his military travels, each c.18 x 12.5cm, subjects include 'near Pamaratta, NSW', 'Arab Woman', and Algers; GOODALL (Frederick), pencil and ink study of a bedouin or herdsman, inscribed lower right "Alli Kahucoud Khan (?)/ Guella/March 31 '89" and signed with monogram, 14.5 x 18 cm; together with FORD (Henry Justice), a series of illustrations in letters to his sister Jessie and his god-daughter, including an illustrated envelope to 'Miss Jessy Ford, 6 Bathurst Street, Sussex Square, London west'; 'Jessie As an Ape'; 'Jessie's Nightmare'; 'Jessie's Suitors', dated March 29th 1888; sketches of 'Jessie's Mountain Adventure'; 'Mr. Gipot'.
