circa 1880, the outer cover in dark blue starburst guilloché enamel with gold coloured Roman numerals and gold coloured inner chemin de fer chapter ring, signed white dial, 32mm diameter, with black Roman numerals, blued double spade hands and chemin de fer chapter ring, signed but unnumbered 25 jewel mechanical key wind 'Demi Chronometre' quarter repeating movement with repeating slider at 5 o'clock, case, 35mm diameter, verso in matching enamel featuring the initial G in gold decorated with rose cut diamonds, inner unmarked, numbered 22932, the inner plate signed and numbered, metal unhallmarked but assessed as 18ct gold, 52.5g gross and presented in a gold tooled fitted case with a short belcher link Albertina and the winding key

Born in Le Chenit, Switzerland, Henry-Daniel Capt was renowned for his snuffboxes with music and automaton scenes as well as his watches. He was one of the first to introduce chronographs to Geneva. His automata are considered some of the best in the 18th and 19th century.
