London 1961, of plain circular form with turned rim and ropetwist decoration below, raised on a similarly decorated pedestal foot, with presentation engraving, 10 x 5cm, 6.3ozt

Footnote: Edward (Ned) Statters' (151571) RAF flying career included training on Tiger Moths, posting to No.1 Operational Unit at Bagotville, Quebec, then transferring to No 55 OTU Annan. He flew Tempests, Harvards, Hurricanes and Spitfires and fought in the Battle of Britain and with 193 squadron, he flew Typhoons. After the war, he transferred to RAF Christmas Island for a 12-month tour flying Auster spray planes as part of the Nuclear Programme in the Pacific, before returning to the UK to resume instructor duties. He received the Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service in The Air in 1960.
