the pagoda top hood with three cast brass flambeau finials and brass fretwork panels, the trunk with shaped top door having chinoiserie decoration to the front and sides, upon a panelled base and double skirting, the 12inch (30.5cm) brass and silvered dial signed on a plaque, with matted centre, moonphase disc to the arch below an engraved border, with seconds dial and date aperture, mask spandrels, the 8 day 5 pillar movement quarter chiming on 8 bells, strike/silent lever to right side, and brass cased weights277cm highFootnote: Provenance: With Raffety & Walwyn Fine Antique Clocks, London, from whom acquired by the present owner Private collection, Kensington, London Francis Perigal was in business from 1770, a member of the Clockmaker's Company in 1781, and Master in 1806.A few small chips and scratches to paint / lacquer. Currently ticking. Striking and chiming weights not attached. Two later screws to hood top. Side finials rather loose. Overall a very attractive clock.
