Provenance: Mawley Hall, Shropshire
Oil on a very fine weave canvas support. There are several tears and holes in the canvas. The canvas is attached to an open window wooden stretcher which is very slight for the size of the canvas. The tension is poor and the edges of the canvas is degraded. The paint layer has localised areas of loss and some wear. The surface of the painting is very matte with a dirt layer. The simple plain black wooden frame has areas of wear.
