DICKENS (Charles) Three letters signed, to Dr Harrington Tuke, dated October - November - December 1863, on Gads Hill Place headed letter paper, in characteristic blue ink, mentioning a misunderstanding or disagreement apparently with something Mr Reade has written, or with Dr Conolly. [Dr John Conolly, the superintendent of the Middlesex County Lunatic Asylum at Hanwell (1839-43) and later one of the founders of the Earlswood Asylum for Idiots, was a friend of Dickens] (3)
