Description

Attributed to Thomas van Apshoven (Flemish, 1622-1664) Peasants eating and drinking, a man playing a hurdy-gurdy and a boy dancing, in a landscape inscribed indistinctly lower right oil on canvas 55 x 60cm (21 x 23in)
Provenance: Dullingham House, Newmarket
Oil on canvas which has been lined. The paint layer is in a stable condition, there are a few old losses which have been retouched. There are other areas of overpaint. There are remnants of an old varnish. The frame has losses to the wood veneer.
