Description

An 18th century diamond, topaz and gem set chandelier pendant / brooch with gold chains, the jewel designed as a blue foil backed rectangular cushion cut rock crystal with a rose cut diamond at each of the cardinal points, the three lower ones each with a pendant drop: the central one with a small chrysoberyl then a pink foil backed pear cut rock crystal, terminating in a trio of diamond highlights, the two side drops each with a small round cut emerald above a pear cut apricot topaz and a similar smaller trio of rose cut diamond points; the bale set with an oval rose cut diamond, also brooch fitting; all stones in closed back settings, length with bale 4.9cm; presently hung from two modern chains of similar length, one of oval filed trace links, London hallmarks for 9ct gold, 1984, the other a fancy figaro type chain stamped '9ct', lengths 51 and 49cm
