Footnote: Other notes: A. E. Köchert is one of the oldest jewellers in Austria, and one of the leading jewellers in Europe. Founded by Jakob Heinrich Köchert in 1814, A. E. Kochert has been a family business for more than 200 years. In 1831 they were appointed 'Imperial and Royal Court jeweller' and in 1849 Emperor Franz Joseph appointed Jakob Heinrich Köchert as 'Chamber jeweller' - his personal jeweller. Jakob Heinrich was entrusted with looking after the Imperial treasury and completed the unfinished Imperial regalia, including the Imperial crown of Austria. By 1880 they employed over 50 goldsmiths. Their name was now being mentioned in the same breath as the other great jewellers of Europe, such as Mellerio, Bucheron and Cartier, with numerous aristocrats and families of the nobility as regular customers. In 1908 they were commissioned to make the crown jewels for Bulgaria and in 1928 King Zog of Albania commissioned his crown, in addition to tiaras for each of his six sisters. Today, in addition to their flagship store in Vienna, they also have a store in Salzburg.
