Description

A Victorian silver 6 piece tea and coffee set, by James Dixon & Sons, London & Sheffield 1896/98, the teapot of squat rectangular form, half gadrooned body with gadrooned edge and double leaf capped scroll handle set with ivory insulators, the plain hinged cover with gadroon decoration topped with a black finial, and raised on four bun feet, the coffee pot, two handled sugar bowl, milk jug and tea caddy to match, the kettle with rigid part wooden handle to match and plain bottom rim locating into the stand, with gadrooned edge and star pierced decoration, raised on four strapped and reeded supports with claw feet, removable part marked spirit burner and two chain and peg fittings, gross weight 114ozt (6)
