About this lot

Description

the claw set central natural pink round brilliant cut diamond, further set with thirty round brilliant cut white diamonds, head diameter 6.9mm, diamond set shoulders, 'D' shaped shank, size L, unhallmarked, stamped '14Kt', weight 2.1g, accompanied by a report from AIG dated March 22, 2020, stating the centre stone weight as 0.40ct, colour grade natural Fancy Intense Pink, clarity grade I1, and the remainder of the diamonds with a total stated weight of 0.19ct

Footnote: Pink is one of the rarest natural colours of diamond on earth and the Argyle mine in Australia is the only known significant source, producing over 90% of the world's supply. Even so, less than 1% of the Argyle mine’s total diamond output is pink and for every one million carats of rough diamonds mined there, only one carat of pink diamonds is recovered. Due, in part, to their extreme rarity, the mine closed in 2020 which will undoubtedly make these stones even more scarce and valuable.
