About this lot

Description

each with serpentine-crested padded back, armrest and seat, on carved cabriole legs,
100 x 72 x 78cm

Provenance:
Landwade Hall, Exning, Suffolk

Condition report:

Joints loose, some loss of scroll work to legs, legs appear to have been re-glued, one chair particularly in need of restoration, loss of one front castor, wear commensurate with age. Both chairs appear to have been either partially or totally re-railed and re-blocked over various periods with some of the railing appearing to be more recent than the other. The older looking railing and blocks appear to have had worm but it is unclear if it is still active. See images attached.
