the central pearl surrounded by a crescent set with fifteen graduated cushion shaped sapphires, further set with thirteen old brilliant cut diamonds, knife edge bar, each end terminating in a sapphire and diamond, estimated approximate total sapphire weight 1.90ct, estimated approximate total diamond weight 0.37ct, length 5.1cm, width 2cm, pin and revolver fitting, unmarked, tested as 18ct gold, weight 6.2g

Footnote: Crescent moons in Victorian jewellery often represented spirituality and the glorification of the Feminine Moon Goddess. The stars were often symbols of direction and guidance for the spirit. The crescent was also used to represent change, as a moon has multiple lunar phases.

Condition report: In overall good condition. All stones present and secure within the settings. Very minor chipping and abrasion to stones, consistent with age and only visible with a 10X loupe. The pin opens and closes positively with no sign of strain.
