About this lot

Description

A collection of 'Pop-It' bead necklaces, sixteen rows of 'rainbow' colours of varying lengths, the beads oval in shape, and one row of round beads of metallic finish. Circa 1960 (17)
Pop-it' or 'pop' beads were one of the most ubiquitous fads during the 1950s and 1960s. Made out of plastic, each bead connected to the next by a knob that pushed the bead into the next making a popping sound. The appeal of these beads was that they could be arranged into single or multi-strand bracelets and necklaces then taken apart and mixed together to make different styles and colour combinations.
