Description

A 19th century wooden netsuke signed Miwa, finely carved as a man playing a flute on a buffalo, 3.7cm high
Other Notes: There were a number of carvers using the name Miwa, all living in Edo, the first recorded in the Soken Kisho (1781). All specialised in wooden netsuke until the early 19th century.
