Footnote: Anne Christopherson served in the Second World War in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force. After the war, she attended Bournemouth School of Art and from 1948-50, Goldsmiths College. A year at Hornsey completed her training and in 1951, she became Art Mistress at Blackheath High School where she taught for 11 years. In 1958, she married the painter, John Christopherson. For many years, the couple - plein air painters - would set out every Sunday afternoon to walk along the river, equipped with notebooks and pencils.
