Yoshirjiro (Mokuchu) Urushibara (Japanese, 1888-1953)Lilies 2 (Lilies with Vase)numbered '66' (lower left) and signed 'Y Urushibara' (lower right)woodblock print on paper41 x 28cm57 x 45cm (framed)The print with typical age toning, deepening in colours at the outermost edges of the margins where the paper has been in contact with the mount board, the paler areas of the print, including the petals also demonstrate obvious age toning (see images). The margins have some very minor and isolated instances of foxing along the top and right hand edges, there are two very minor foxing spots present on the right hand side of the image. There is some slight fading of the green leaves and, as mentioned above, the petals are discoloured with toning, but the blue vase is still strong in colour, around the borders of the leaves and stems, the surrounding background colour appears paler. There is some slight undulation along the top edge of the sheet.
