circa 1919. the white dial signed IMPROVED PATENT, 47mm diameter, with black Roman numerals, blued double spade hands, subsidiary seconds register at 6 o'clock and chemin de fer chapter ring, front loading gilt full plate movement under a brass dust cover, numbered I993, engraved winged balance cock with diamond end stone, cylinder escapement with chain fusée and 3 pinned ringed spool pillars, case, 54mm diameter with milled edge, verso hinged at 6 o'clock, plain and polished with a central vacant and belted escutcheon shaped cartouche, interior with casemaker's mark of William Carter and London hallmarks for Sterling silver, 89.4g gross and presented with the winding key
