circa 1897, the white dial, marked 28923, 42mm diameter, with recessed inner, black Roman numerals, gold coloured spade and whip hands, blued centre chronograph sweep, chemin de fer chapter ring and outer timing track, gilt three quarter plate mechanical crown wind movement number 28923 with onion shaped winder, hand setting button at 4 o'clock and chronograph slider at 5 o'clock, case, 51mm diameter, front with monogram, verso plain and polished, both hinged at 9 o'clock, interior numbered 28923 with Chester hallmarks for 18ct gold and untraced casemaker's mark (WS pellet between, oval cartouche), the cuvette similarly marked, 121.7g gross
