Two yak wool striped blankets, Tarap Valley, Upper Dolpo Region, North Central Nepal, early 20th cen

woven on backstrap loom in three panels, worked with fine indigo, rhubarb and cochineal stripes on broader neutral and darker brown natural fields, 197 x 117cm; the other similar on darker brown field, 187 x 117cm

Condition report:

the lighter piece, good overall; the darker of the two pieces shows seven holes, three of which are repaired, ortherwise in good condition.
