the first, a vinaigrette by Francis Clark, Birmingham 1841, of rectangular form decorated all over with 'quilted' engine turned engraving, the piano hinged cover with an engraved central escutcheon shaped cartouche, floral edges, gilded interior with hinged and pierced grille with floral decoration; the second a vinaigrette by Taylor & Perry, Birmingham 1840, again of rectangular form covered with engine turned decoration, the piano hinged cover with a vacant central rectangular cartouche, floral edges, gilded interior with hinged and pierced grille with floral decoration; the third a vesta case in the form of a snuff box by Charles Rawlings & William Summers, London 1860, rectangular with engine turned decoration all over, the piano hinged cover with a central crested circular cartouche, gilded interior with hinged strike plate (3)
