each with filled and reeded handles, the first probably by William Sumner, London 1776, the flat blade of elongated balloon shape, with concentric rectangular pierced sections around a central pierced foliate motif, the border with engine turned lines; the second by Michael Plummer, London 1794, the slightly concave navette shaped blade with reeded edge and decoratively pierced central section of foliate design above a single initial; the third by William Eley I, London 1795 (the fully marked handle possibly by Michael Plummer), with a pair of arrowhead shaped spring-loaded slightly convex and reeded edged blades, the centres of each with symmetrically pierced decoration (3)
