Footnote: The name “S/el” derives from “Sports Elegance”. The range was designed by Eddie Schopfer who later worked with Breitling and designed their ‘Breitling for Bentley’, ‘Chronomat’ and ‘Emergency’ lines. The concept was that it could “be worn with a diving suit as well as a dinner jacket” and at the time it was their flagship and best-selling range. The unique two piece link bracelet design made them instantly recognisable. The S/el was produced from 1987 to 1999 when it was renamed the “Link”, and today is a core element of the TAG Heuer range.
