John Godwin Williams worked in India in the 1840s and painted a number of portraits of East India Company officers, ecclesiastics and officials.



Condition report:

33.5 x 28.5cm (framed)

The board is slightly warped and there is dirt across the surface of the picture. There are visible signs of retouching in some areas and on close inspection some small chips are visible. Some of the paint has been lost - around the sides and corners where the board has rubbed against the frame.
