Heuer - A steel 'Game Master Military' stop watch, circa 1960, serial number 176482, the signed circular white dial, 42mm diameter, with black Arabic numerals, black sweep seconds and red sweep minutes, outer black bi-directional rotating timing bezel with locking crown at 3 o'clock, signed but unnumbered 7 jewel mechanical crown wind movement calibre 7710 with winding crown and integral start/stop/reset pusher at 8 o'clock, case, 54mm diameter, verso snap on, brushed finish, interior signed and numbered 176482, to the original signed 'Corfam' black strap with steel pin buckle, presented in the original liveried black plastic pouch with outer liveried card boxHeuer have always had a reputation as a manufacturer of quality timing devices, and, in 1959, they released the 'Game Master' as a functional and practical tool to be used solely as a stopwatch. Most users were drivers, referees, and coaches, and it was often referred to simply as the 'coach watch'.Despite its ‘Military’ name, this piece was never standard issue for military personnel. Only produced for 5 years until 1964, this short production run adds to its desirability amongst watch enthusiasts, and the ‘coach watch’ is now a sought after a collector’s item, particularly when it is accompanied by, as in this example, the original pouch and box.
