Provenance: The Gillian Jason Gallery, 42 Inverness Street, London, NW1. Associated with the Arts & Crafts movement, Gill was an English sculptor, printmaker and typeface designer. His art often revolves around ideas of eroticism and religion, mirroring his controversial life. He was awarded the title of Royal Designer for Industry, the highest British award for designers, and was a founding member of the Faculty of Royal Designers for Industry. He received many prestigious commissions, including works for the League of Nations, the BBC, London Transport, and Westminster Cathedral - making some of the most popular devotional art of his era.
Some surface dirt around the head of the model. Slight chip to the paper surface right of the model's shoulder. A slight diagonal crease right of the model. Framed. Examined out of frame - clean margins. Stuck down.
