Other Notes: Canadian born Burtynsky is most widely known for large format photographs of industrial landscapes, and his works are now housed in over fifty public collections around the world, including the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, Tate London, the National Gallery of Canada and the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris. A core and recurrent theme through his work is landscape altered by industry, and he has spent some time in China capturing the country's industrial emergence.
