Description

Dublin - A pair of George lll silver wine coasters, possibly by Christopher Clarke, circa 1770, (marked near the lower rim with maker's mark only) with undulating gadrooned top rim, each with pierced and repoussé sides featuring infant Bacchanals between vines laden with fruit drinking from a flask and falling asleep on a leafy bed with baskets of fruit, within a Rococo landscape of trees, Irish towers, ruins and windmills, the turned wooden bases with olive green baize table protectors (2) 5.50 x 12 x 12cm (2 x 5 x 5in)
