Description

circa 1818, the unsigned white dial, 48mm diameter, with black Roman numerals, copper coloured spade hands, subsidiary seconds register at 6 o'clock and chemin de fer chapter ring, front loading gilt full plate movement signed CHAS MAITLAND LONDON 5529, with engraved balance cock, cylinder escapement with chain fusée and four pinned cylindrical pillars, case, 55mm diameter, with convex crystal and upper and lower bezels, verso hinged at 6 o'clock, interior with casemaker's mark of George Yeats & George Cohen and London hallmarks for Sterling silver, presented with the winding key



Case: Overall in fair condition with no obvious sign of repair. Some surface scratches, scuffs, minor dents and bruising as to be expected, commensurate with heavy wear. Caseback a good fit. Hallmarks inside clear and crisp.

Dial: Hairline crack to the edge at 6 o'clock and 3 o'clock

Movement: Not currently In working order.
