Provenance: By repute from the Clausen family; together with Sir Edward John Poynter, 1st Bt (British, 1836-1919), A study of plants, stamped with monogram 'EJP' (lower right), black and white chalk on brown paper, unframed, 28 x 20.3cm; Thomas Webster, RA (British, 1800-1886), A study of a seated lady, signed 'TWebster' (lower right) and indistinctly inscribed and dated 1871 (lower left), pencil and coloured crayon on paper, unframed, 27.4 x 19.9cm; and another of a seated man, signed 'TWebster RA' (lower left), pencil on paper, unframed, 18.7 x 15cm; together with a cartoon by Phil May and three other studies by different hands (8)
