the watch, circa 1880, with unsigned white dial, 36mm diameter, black Roman numerals, blued decorative hands and chemin de fer chapter ring, unsigned and unnumbered key wind cylinder movement, case, 40mm diameter, verso hinged at 6 o'clock, lavishly decorated with foliage and scrolls over an engine turned ground, interior numbered 987, the cuvette, with two winding holes, decorated with engine turned engraving and a central cartouche with foliate and scroll borders, engraved ECHAPPEMENT A CYLINDRE AIGUILLES QUATRE TROUS EN PIERRE, together with the French eagle's head stamp for 18ct gold, 36g gross; the belcher link Albertina chain terminating at one end with a threaded swivel catch and at the other with a knotted junction supporting three short lengths of matching chain, two terminating in matching and vacant fob seals, the central chain terminating in a ratchet watch key; a short distance from the junction is a trefoil link, marked with the French eagle's head for 18ct gold opposite a bigorne strike, this link designed to support a T bar fitting (currently lacking), maximum length, 41cm, gross weight of chain and attachments, 14.6g (2)
