Description

A William IV plum mahogany and brass bound gentleman's dressing case, containing a removable tray holding a travelling shaving brush and a number of silver topped bottles and jars, by Charles Rawlings & William Summers, and others, London 1830/1835, monogrammed, the largest silver topped lid with a belt engraved around the monogram with the message 'as a mark of esteem from his friends HF & C, 1st Jan. 1837’ the interior of the lid is hinged and features a stationery sleeve containing the original presentation letter dated 1837, also included are a pair of Victorian rectangular glass and silver topped cosmetics jars by John Howes, London 1851, containing three silver lids to match, once the tops of glass jars 10 x 32 x 22cm (4 x 12 x 9in)
