the 11inch (28cm) circular silvered dial signed 'Heywood London', the six pillar movement with shaped plates, six spoke wheels, wooden rod pendulum with large bob, the front plate marked for Handley and Moore and numbered 1465, the hood with brass finial above arched trunk door upon a plinth base,

Footnote:

George Handley and John Moore were former apprentices of John Thwaites who went into partnership in 1798. The partnership continued until 1824 when Handley died, after which Moore continued alone. William Heywood is recorded as working in King Street, Covent Garden 1807-10, and at Goodge Street from 1815-42.



Condition report:

Had been working OK for several days. But now moved into the saleroom for viewing, does not work for long, as needs levelling properly. Has case key and winding key. See photos for general condition. A pretty clock.
