About this lot

Description

by William Fleming, London 1713, slightly flared with reeded base, turned wooden (replacement) handle to a part marked shaft, monogrammed, 9cm diameter at the rim, 5.9ozt

Condition report: Generally in good condition with no obvious sign of repair. Very minor surface dust scratching as to be expected The rim is a little knocked and dented and there is a very tiny split to the edge of the rim at 3 o'clock (with the handle at 12 o'clock). The handle is not the original. Hallmark is clear and easily readable, and the handle shaft is park marked with maker's mark (a bit blurred), and standard mark. The foot is very slightly out of shape. All in all a delightful piece of early 18th century silverware.
