by Lewis Mettayer, London 1709, the panelled octagonal bases alternately engraved with saltires (one crested) and foliage within two decorated borders, the column with knop and shoulder with symmetrical engraved decoration, detachable unmarked nozzles bordered with foliate decoration, scratch engraved to the base '15.6 No3' and 15.4 No4' respectively, overall height 20cm, 33.5ozt gross (2)

Condition report: Stick 1 - In generally good condition for its age with no obvious sign of repair. Some slight deformation to the sconce but the nozzle fits well. Stands firm on a flat surface with no rocking. Very slight lean. Crisp hallmarks to the base. Stick 2 - Column detached from the base above the fist knop and repaired from the inside using a metal splint. Stands firm on a flat surface with no rocking.
