About this lot

Description

by James Kirkby, Waterhouse & Co (James Kirkby & Joseph Waterhouse), Sheffield 1814, the bases lavishly decorated with repoussé scrolls and foliage, the shoulders and crested scones similarly decorated, as are the part marked and detachable nozzles, 12cm high, loaded (2)

Condition report: Generally in reasonable condition for their age: 1 - a slight wobble when on a flat surface, leans slightly, loading in good order, missing a table protector to the base. Slight crease to the edge of the sconce. 2 - loading breaking up and rattling a bit, leans slightly, baseplate proud of the candlestick edge but (probably the original) table protector in place though very worn. Sconce a little out of shape. Hallmarks a bit worn but still easily readable. A little less worn on the nozzles. Crest is easily readable and may be that of Alexander.
