Description

by Louis de Haan, Rotterdam, circa 1760, with later Dutch export marks and rampant lion mark indicating minimum silver standard of 934/1000, of oval form, the steep sided and slightly flared pierced and decorated sides under a beaded rim, with two applied beaded edged and pierced strap handles with bright cut decoration, raised on four ball feet,10ozt (Dimensions: 12cm x 29cm x 15.50cm)

(12cm x 29cm x 15.50cm)

Footnote: Louis de Hann's mark was used from 1745 - 1781. The rampant lion standard mark was used from 1814 - 1953. The stamp of the key through the standard mark indicating export ware was used between 1853 - 1953. This example, therefore, appears to have been made in the mid to late 18th century, then later marked for export.
