A Japanese Satsuma pottery large chrysanthemum vase, Meiji Period (1868-1912),

decorated in low relief with three butterflies amongst nine flowerheads with green and gold leaves, the base with Shimazu blue enamel clan mon and four character gold mark, possibly Chikosai or Taketoki

Rubbing of gilding especially on the rim

Numerous (mainly small) enamel losses and crazed petals etc
