Description

A Japanese lacquer calling card box, 20th century

rectangular, the lid decorated with the red cone of Fujiyama arising from clouds in gold nashiji, 11cm long With a letterhead from Buckingham Palace inscribed " Lacquer Box was a present from the Japanese Foreign Minister -1990's", and enclosed is a calling card of Tohru Nakai, First Secretary Political Section, Embassy of Japan, London.







Condition report:

Overall the box is in a very good condition. There are some minor scratches throughout and there is one small chip to the lacquer on a corner of the box lower right of the depiction of Mount Fuji. There is a small dot blemish upon the mountain.
