Description

A Chinese blue and white porcelain five dragon large jardiniere, of compressed ovoid shape, painted with five five-clawed sky dragons, flames from their bodies, amongst cloud wisps, sea-wave basal band and ruyi head/wave repeat rim collar, bearing blue seal mark of Daoguang 27 x 41cm The inspiration for this piece was a similar bowl given as a gift by The Qianlong Emperor to The Macartney Embassy, now in the Royal Collection RCIN 78436 It was sold at Christies's, New York, circa twenty years ago but the details are untraced  Private collection, North of EnglandOverall good condition
