the snuffbox, Birmingham 1997, of rectangular form, the base decorated with engine turned engraving, the hinged cover decorated with a chased and engraved image of Royal Ascot racecourse with the Queen's coach parading in front of the stands, with gilded interior engraved to the inner of the cover 'Royal Ascot 1997 The Gold Cup Celeric', presented in a green leather and velvet lined case by Garrard & Co embossed in gold tooling to the cover 'Royal Ascot 1997', 6.1ozt, accompanied by a pair of green onyx marble ashtrays, each with a horseshoe bordering the dished centre, and with a silver plaque signed 'Asprey' and engraved 'Celeric Ascot Gold Cup 1997' (Qty: 3)

Footnote: Celeric (1992 - ret. 2000) won the Gold Cup in 1997. In the same year, he was named European Champion Stayer at the Cartier Racing Awards. The horse's name was reported to be a misspelling of Celeriac.
