A 15th century elm and iron bound boarded chest, possibly an ecclesiastical strong chest, with iron strap hinges to the top, three iron lock plates to the front panel and banded with straps to each of the bench ends 42 x 145 x 43cm (16 x 57 x 17in)
Literature: A 1970's magazine advertisement is sold with the chest, when sold last by William H Stokes, a dealer from Siddington in Gloucestershire
Evidence of old worm, some missing iron straps and lock clasps. One leg is built up slightly
