Description

A two-page handwritten letter, a one page handwritten letter, a one page typed letter and a telegram to Gigi Richter. The first letter, dated April 21st (year unknown), is when Hayter was in New York. The letter discusses him coming to Britain and his exhibitions - 'Shall make a one man show here before I sail at Hugo Gallery, and do some things in Paris and Brussels but it looks as though the London show I meant to do wont be possible...The Leicester didn't sound sound too enthusiastic after Brown wrote to me, so as Penrose wanted the things for the new gallery I sent him word to collect the things from Brown'. In a letter dated, 6.3.46, Hayter writes 'My darling, Perhaps it is strange that I should send you a letter when you are so very near, it is however to greet a new day + say hello, thank you for yesterday evening...'.
