Footnote:

Known professionally as David Linley, David Albert Charles Armstrong-Jones, the eldest child of Princess Margaret and Antony Armstrong-Jones, is principally renowned for his furniture designs, distinctive for their neoclassical motifs and use of inlaid woods. The present lot is highly unusual, therefore, both in style and discipline.

Condition report:

Some fibre inclusions beneath the paint layer, likely from the brush during the execution of the piece. There is also a scattering of small dark spots on the lower left hand side of the image, and some white paint marks and droplets along the lower edge, these are likely to be in the hand of the artist rather than the result of any later damage. Where paint has been applied thinly, areas of the white canvas beneath are showing through. There is a very small area beneath the lower left hand corner where a small area of canvas is missing. Canvas tension a little slack, but in overall good condition. Please note, the main image is a true reflection of the colour, additional images are not representative of the true colour.
