Everywhere you look these days there seems to be ‘limited editions’ of things…cars, perfume, food and drink, clothes and of course luxury items such as watches.

Many of these, I think, are just down to clever marketing and are not particularly ‘limited’, but occasionally you do come across a true ‘limited edition.’ This is something quite interesting and produced in very small numbers that will never be repeated even as a bespoke order.

In the November Jewellery, Silver and Watches Sale we have one such item. A Bremont Victory watch, which is number 73 in a limited edition of just 250, and which was voted 'The coolest watch of the year 2012' by Forbes and 'Luxury watch of the year 2012' at WatchPro's Watches of the Year Awards.

Bremont Victory

Bremont was founded in 2002 and is an award-winning British company producing handmade watches of exceptional quality from their workshops based in Henley on Thames. Going head-to head with some of the top Swiss watch companies such as Breitling and Omega, Bremont is proud of its British status and often works with other famous British marques such as Rolls Royce, Jaguar and Williams racing.

In 2012 Bremont became involved in a joint venture with The National Museum of the Royal Navy (Portsmouth) to create a limited edition watch unlike any other watch ever created. Each mechanical retrograde watch was made with original parts of HMS Victory built into it. Launched in 1765, HMS Victory was Lord Nelson’s flagship and is the only remaining 18th Century ship anywhere in the world. Incorporated into each ‘Victory’ watch is oak timber and brass, and copper components made from original copper nails, all taken from this historic warship.

The Bremont ‘Victory’ was launched at HMS Victory in Portsmouth harbour on 12th July 2012, commemorating Nelson and the ship itself, and part of the proceeds from each of the 250 limited edition watches produced went towards the ship's restoration fund.

Bremont Victory

This is a top-quality British made timepiece, using materials from one of the world’s most famous ships, and we are offering one of only 250 ever made. This is a true ‘limited edition,’ worthy of a second look! It has hardly been worn and comes presented in the original wooden case and outer card box, along with instruction booklet, warranty card dated 22/5/2103, certificate of authenticity confirming the rotor, barrel and case back inlay have been crafted with original brass, copper and oak timber from HMS Victory, launch notebook and original receipt.

It has a presale estimate of £2,000 - £4,000.
