An exclusive online auction featuring a range of work from high profile artists has raised an incredible £63,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The auction, hosted by Cambridge-based auction house Cheffins and online auction experts The Saleroom, saw more than 40 lots going under hammer.
All the pieces up for grabs were generously donated by some of the leading names in contemporary art, including a piece from Turner Prize winner Antony Gormley which sold for £12,000.
Bronte Graver, EACH Major Supporter Fundraiser, said: “We are thrilled to announce the total raised through this art auction is more than £63,000. The money raised will make a real difference and go towards our vital services caring for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and supporting their families at a time when they need it most. It’s costs £5,058 each month to develop and continue providing our specialist art therapy sessions so this money could support this vital service for the next 12 months.

Despite the immense challenges of COVID EACH care team has adapted to meet the constant need for complex nursing care. The charity has also continued to develop online wellbeing resources and activities to support the emotional health and wellbeing needs of all family members. A selection of short videos designed by our specialist care team for families who use EACH services have been created with art activities and ideas, sensory play activities and ways to explore nature. Families have been sharing their artwork on an online gallery as a way of joining together as a community to share and support others in the same situation.
